Beautiful Williamsburg Maternity Session - Kira + Al

A Maternity session at a cemetery? Who would have ever thought!? I arrived at Williamsburg Cemetery kind of excited, and for a few reasons... One of my first weddings I ever photographed took place at the chapel here, and also one of the nicest creative sessions I photographed here ended up in our local Wedding Trends magazine! I have warm and fuzzy feelings about this place. On a deeper level, part of me thinks that those who are laid to rest here might enjoy all the life and joy that people bring when they visit a cemetery for happier reasons other than burials.

Kira, Al and their fur baby 'Anfeild' are expecting their new little person in just a few short weeks! Which means I'll get my hands on a precious little bundle very soon at the studio for a newborn session!

The grounds at Williamsburg are meticulously kept, beautifully manicured and its obvious that many hours and love go into maintaining this lovely venue. But there is also a section on the grounds that have been left natural, wild and free. This is where we ended up!

Gorgeous Victoria Park Maternity Session - Jeni & Roly

About a week and half ago I met up with a super special Mommy-to-Be and her handsome husband at Victoria park, here in Kitchener. I stepped out of the car, turned the corner and saw them and pretty much stopped dead in my tracks. They were dressed head-to-toe glam-gorgeous! Jen, who has been my wonderfully talented hair stylist for a long time, was wearing the prettiest, most delicate, feminine flowy gown in a soft pink. Hair and makeup to the nine's and Roly, was just as smartly dressed in a dress shirt and sport jacket. Well you'll see what I mean by there photos below. I literally told them I could have put the camera on a tripod that day because everything they game me was gold. Pure magic. Every shot was just to die for. To say this couple has style might be a slight understatement, but one thing I know for sure is that this little princess that's on her way is going to born with excellent taste, and just beautiful parents, inside and out. These two share such a special connection, and their love for one another is beyond evident. Their love together made me smile and it seemed the sun shined a little brighter when they were around.

It was such a privilege photographing Jeni and Roly, and I can't wait to photograph their new little person once she arrives!

Beautiful Kitchener Newborn Session @StudioHRKVC!

On Saturday August 27th I had the privilege of meeting one of Kitcheners newest citizens! Princess Violet came to the studio for a visit with her mommy and daddy, and nothing but cuteness ensued. Fingers to toes of pure perfection! She was already 3 weeks old at the time of the session, which while is a bit older than the optimal time for the traditional newborn session, we made out like bandits with this little sweetheart! I'm sure you'll agree by her insanely adorable photos that her modelling career is off to a fine start! She slept like a champ, gave me some smiles, and best of all, she got to wear the most precious little outfit that her very own mum wore 30 years ago as a wee lass! How incredibly special is that!? I absolutely love photographing sentimental details like that when I can, and this one definitely was super precious. Here is a sampling of her session!

Kitchener Family Photo Session - Tara and Joe

Last week I met up with a beautiful couple and their son, (and fur baby Gus!) for a family session at Victoria Park. I don't know what it is with me and Victoria Park lately but every time I go, I find a new nugget of space that I fall in love with and need to photograph "the next time I'm there". It kinda works out! They had been married a few years earlier and felt like there were a few photos they wanted to re-create so I went in with an Engagement Photo vibe. I so wish I had been the one to have photographed their wedding, because they are such a beautiful family! Once I got home, I realized that I pretty much chatted their ears off all night, but I couldn't help it! We hit it off and the conversation just came so naturally. My favourite. It makes it so so easy to create beautiful photos when I've got that vibe goin' on!

Beautiful Victoria Park Ontario Engagement Session!

I've always said, and I'll say it again, there is nothing more magical than when my clients and I instantly have an awesome connection. I'm honestly pretty lucky and feel as though my clients feel more like friends than clients. And I attribute this to the amazing photos that happen when we hang out. When Mike & Jen and I got together for their engagement shoot, it seemed natural to bring some cold drinks and a blanket and have a bit of a picnic of sorts before we started shooting. Our venue was the lush and green Victoria Park here in Kitchener. It was the week or two after the infamous "Pokemon GO" was launched and the park was packed with people and their phones! It was pretty incredible. But even still, amidst all the Pokemon revellers, Mike and Jen seemed to effortlessly tune everyone and everything out, falling into their own little world together, and making it seem as though it was just the three of us in this beautiful park. Their connection is obvious. Their stunning good looks - also obvious. They laugh and smile so easily together, the jokes and chatting together happened on its own, and there was literally no prompting from me for a single shot. Everything they gave me was magic!

I hope you'll agree - here are some gems from our time together. To say I'm not excited for their wedding day would be a complete lie. I just can't wait. Just a few more months until I will be posting some beautiful previews from their big day!
